Here is where I feel Photomatix's interface needs to be improved.
You will see a new processing choice, Fusion/Real Estate. not batch processing), after the pre-process stage you get a chance to choose Tone Mapping or Exposure Fusion. I sent Photomatix a bug fix (minor) and a long comment about how confusing parts of their interface are.įor any of you trying this out and wanting to try the new Fusion/Real Estate parameters, be aware of the following. The Fusion/Natural results are better (in my opinion) than the previous version. I spent a couple hours with it and was able to get pretty good results. It is a beta, but I hope we get a few beta versions more to solve this and do it well. I more or less can go with Henderson Images on huis conclusions. I sat down last night and processed 15 pictures through it, deleted them, and started over with Photomatix 4.ĭark, flat, and out of focus (improper alignment) I hope they are still a long ways from releasing this. Using the new Fusion/Real Estate preset creates much to dark of a result which need to much post processing. Anybody given it an extensive test drive yet?īusy. There is nothing stating when this will go to full release but when it does, anyone that owns versions 3 or 4 will get the upgrade for free. My current installation is not functioning properly so I can't really play with it via Lightroom, but I can tell you the non-color balanced shots I was playing with did seem to get the windows and natural look much better than anything I've previously seen. One thing of immediate interest to us PFRE types is the Fusion/Real Estate preset. HDRsoft has at last brought us something to get excited about with the beta of Photomatix 5.
